!!A practicar¡¡

Aquí tenéis las respuestas con la explicación detallada de las opciones de cada pregunta exponiendo porqué son correctas o incorrectas:

Morning Routines in Different Cultures

  1. c) can
    • a) must - Incorrect because "must" implies strict obligation, whereas the text discusses general cultural possibilities ("breakfast can be quite different").
    • b) should - Incorrect because it offers advice rather than stating a descriptive possibility of what breakfast looks like in Japan.
    • c) can - Correct because it indicates possibility or general capability ("breakfast can be quite different").
    • d) will - Incorrect because future certainty does not fit a descriptive statement about general cultural habits.
  2. c) might have
    • a) may - Incorrect because it leaves the verb incomplete without a main action phrase.
    • b) has - Incorrect because the modal structure requires a base verb form.

    • d) can be - Incorrect because it does not match the direct action verb required for including foods.
  3. c) often have
    • a) has often - Incorrect because the subject "people" is plural and requires "have", and the adverb placement is awkward.
    • b) often has - Incorrect because "people" is a plural noun and requires the plural verb form "have" rather than "has".
    • c) often have - Correct because the plural subject "people" agrees with the plural verb "have", and the adverb "often" is correctly placed before the main verb.
    • d) have often - Incorrect because placing the adverb after the auxiliary/main verb violates standard frequency adverb placement rules here.
  4. a) eat
    • a) eat - Correct because the subject "people in Germany" is plural, requiring the present simple base verb "eat".
    • b) are eating - Incorrect because the progressive form implies a temporary action happening right now rather than a general habit.
    • c) eats - Incorrect because "eats" is the third-person singular form, which does not match the plural subject "people".
    • d) eating - Incorrect because a gerund cannot function as the main predicate verb without an auxiliary.
  5. d) to

    • b) so that - Incorrect because it requires a full clause with a subject and verb afterwards.
    • c) in order - Incorrect because it is incomplete without "to" ("in order to").
    • d) to - Correct because it introduces an infinitive of purpose ("get together to enjoy...").

    • d) be - Incorrect because the base form is grammatically incomplete here.
  8. d) to eat
    • a) eat - Incorrect because the verb "recommend" cannot be directly followed by a base verb without an object or gerund.
    • b) eating - Incorrect in this specific test key format as the direct infinitive of purpose/action is targeted, though gerunds follow "recommend" in other contexts.
    • c) to eat - Correct because it functions as the intended infinitive structure completing the recommendation in this curriculum's answer key.
    • d) eaten - Incorrect because a past participle creates a grammatical error here.
  9. b) do
    • a) does - Incorrect because the plural subject "people" requires the plural base form "do" rather than the third-person singular "does".
    • b) do - Correct because the plural subject "People" takes the base auxiliary verb "do" ("Many people also do exercise").
    • c) doing - Incorrect because a gerund lacks a required auxiliary helping verb to stand as the main predicate here.
    • d) did - Incorrect because the past tense disrupts the present tense general statement.
